How do I look for breaking news on new highrises or townhouses being built?

I'm interested in getting into buying and selling real estate and I'd like to be one of the first people to hear about new ones being planned to be built. Are there websites for this? Are there local organizations that send the news out. Basically, how do I hustle to get breaking news?

1. You can write to each town's Board of Realtors or their Chamber of Commerce and request this info. Also, look on the web for newspapers for the towns you are interested in, check their newspapers for announcements of new properties.
