sociology news analysis essay?

I have an essay I need to do called.. sociology news analysis. I pretty much have to summarize the news, no older than 2008, I find and apply it to a sociologist perspective. I'd like to use the Conflict Theory since I understand it best. I'm having difficulties on this paper because I can't even find a news article that I can apply this to. I was thinking about doing something on gay marriage..how they don't have equal rights but I'm having troubles finding an article relating to that. Any help would be helpful!! Thank youu!
